The third conference of the “Bridge of Peace” initiative was significantly larger than the previous two, with participation from members of the initiative as well as representatives of the civil society, experts, and journalistic communities of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The coordinator of the initiative and President of the Armenian Council analytical center, Areg Kochinyan, stated this during a press conference dedicated to the results of the third conference.
He noted that, in addition to the members of the initiative, a broader group of civil society, experts, and media representatives from both countries took part in the event.
Farhad Mammadov, coordinator of the “Bridge of Peace” initiative and Chairman of the South Caucasus Research Center, thanked the Armenian side and the organizers for what he described as a high-level organization of the conference.
According to Mammadov, this was the third face-to-face meeting within the framework of the initiative. He emphasized that the Azerbaijani delegation crossed the interstate border on foot, completing all the necessary procedures.
Mammadov added that this time more representatives of civil society had been invited.
In his words, the Azerbaijani group works with Azerbaijani society, while the Armenian group works with Armenian society. At the same time, the sides are discussing future joint initiatives.
He also noted that a sincere dialogue had been established, with an appropriate environment and atmosphere created for constructive discussions.
