Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, ahead of the award ceremony in Abu Dhabi. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, also attended the meeting.
Mohamed Abdelsalam expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for accepting the invitation to participate in the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, highlighting the importance of his presence at the event, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.
Both sides expressed confidence that the fact that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan are being honored with the award will give new momentum to the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as contribute to steady progress in promoting cooperation and stability in the region.
Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked the Secretary-General for the warm hospitality and high appreciation, emphasizing the importance of initiatives based on peace and mutual trust.
Prime Minister Pashinyan, accompanied by his wife Anna Hakobyan and government officials, arrived in the UAE capital to attend the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, where he is an honoree.
Both Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have been named 2026 honorees of the Zayed Award in recognition of the peace process between the two countries. The two leaders met earlier on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi ahead of the ceremony.
