With the support of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), 23 Armenian winemaking companies will once again participate this year in one of the most prestigious international events in the wine industry—the Wine Paris expo.
Taking place in the French capital from February 9–11, Armenian wine producers will present their products under a unified national pavilion.
Vine and Wine Foundation Executive Director Zaruhi Muradyan said at a press conference that 230 varieties of Armenian wine will be presented at the event.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the range of our quality wines and to understand the target market and pricing policies. Armenian winemaking is very unique; over the years, we have preserved our varietal characteristics, which makes us stand out. We want to position ourselves on the international map as one of the oldest winemaking countries, emphasizing our indigenous grape varieties and high-quality wines produced using traditional techniques,” said Muradyan.
After Paris, in March, Armenian wine producers will travel to Japan to participate in the prestigious FOODEX exhibition. Muradyan noted that Japan is a growing market for wine consumption and that there is significant potential for Armenian products to enter this market. Last year, 10 Armenian companies participated in this exhibition; this year, 17 will attend. Muradyan also highlighted the strong interest in Armenian wine in Japan.
“Such exhibitions are not only a platform for signing contracts and finding new partners, but also an opportunity to showcase and position our country as a producer of high-quality wine. We hold meetings with wine experts and exchange experiences. We also work closely with the media,” said Muradyan, adding that, overall, there is significant interest in Armenian wine in the international market.
