Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan is on a working visit to Israel to participate in the EducAItion 2026 ministerial conference, dedicated to shaping personalized education policies in the era of artificial intelligence, the ministry said in a press release.
Within the framework of the visit, Minister Andreasyan met with Israeli Education Minister Yoav Kisch on February 2. The meeting was also attended by the Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Israel Arman Hakobyan and Advisor to the Minister Arman Andrikyan.
Andreasyan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the invitation to participate in the conference, emphasizing that Armenia attaches great importance to deepening cooperation with Israel in the field of education. She underscored the existing potential and broad opportunities for bilateral cooperation, particularly in innovative and technological education.
During the meeting, Andreasyan presented the education reforms being implemented in Armenia, including the introduction of artificial intelligence teaching in high schools. She highlighted the STEP.AI program and the multi-level “Generation AI” initiative aimed at training AI specialists from school through postgraduate education.
The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in curriculum development, teacher training, STEM education, digital literacy, and innovative teaching methods.
Andreasyan noted that technological education has become one of Armenia’s calling cards, pointing to the country’s advanced experience in non-formal education and presenting the model of the Tumo Center.
Scientific research cooperation, academic exchange programs, the development of inter-university ties, and reforms in Armenia’s higher education sector were also discussed. In this context, Andreasyan presented the new law “On Higher Education and Science” and the Academic City project, stressing that the reforms place strong emphasis on internationalization and engagement with foreign partners.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to deepen long-term bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
