Armenia's application to repair railway sections leading to the borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey is currently being reviewed in an operational manner, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has said.

"The Russian side is in constant contact with Armenian partners, including in the economic sphere. All requests from Yerevan are being processed by the relevant departments in an operational mode," Zakharova noted, according to an Armenpress correspondent.

She added that Moscow reaffirms its readiness to consider possible options, taking into account the unique experience accumulated by Russian Railways.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan appealed to Russia, urging it to make a decision as soon as possible on restoring the railway sections on the territory of Armenia leading to the borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey.

According to the Prime Minister, if for any reason the Russian side does not wish to make investments, Armenia will remove those sections from the concession and carry out the renovation works using its own funds.
