EU expected to list IRGC as terror organization, impose new sanctions on Iran

The European Union will most likely include Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on its list of terrorist organisations, the bloc's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Friday ahead of a foreign affairs ministers’ council.
"We are putting new sanctions on Iran and I also expect we will list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist list," she told reporters.
“If you act as a terrorist, you should also be treated as terrorists,” she said.
Kallas stated that the meeting of foreign ministers will have a fairly full agenda, which will also include the Russia-Ukraine war. She said that they plan to include Russia in a “blacklist” regarding money laundering. “I think any measure that will force Russia to engage in real negotiations is good, and this is how we will move forward,” the EU top diplomat said.
Among the issues to be discussed will also be the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza and Syria.
