The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Petra Bayr, has lauded the initialing of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty, highlighting that it opens new prospects for regional peace.
Addressing Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who was present at the plenary session and later delivered remarks, Bayr said that Mirzoyan’s tenure has seen highly significant developments for Armenia.
"On August 8, 2025, the initialing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan opened new prospects for regional peace, which is extremely important for us," Petra Bayr said.
She added that this important step also coincides with another significant milestone, as Armenia is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its accession to the Council of Europe this year.
"We are eagerly looking forward to seeing the continuation of this progress and want to assure you that PACE supports you," the PACE President emphasized, addressing the Armenian Foreign Minister.
