Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova

On January 26, in Strasbourg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Mihai Popșoi, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.

At the outset of the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan congratulated his counterpart on assuming the Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Mihai Popșoi discussed opportunities to develop the partnership between Armenia and Moldova and enhance the bilateral agenda. Both sides emphasized their commitment to actively promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest to Armenia and Moldova, including the intensification of economic cooperation.

Views were exchanged on the continued strengthening of democratic institutions and on mechanisms to effectively counter hybrid threats, including disinformation.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova discussed issues related to cooperation with the European Union, emphasizing their readiness to exchange experiences in the process of European integration. In this context, the upcoming European Political Community Summit to be held in Yerevan was also touched upon.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on regional and international developments.
