Armenian Parliament Speaker thanks Turkish FM for supporting peace agenda

Armenian Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan has thanked Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan for his statement in support of peace and regional cooperation.

“I express my gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and to all our regional partners who support the call of the majority of the public of the Republic of Armenia to pursue peace and trade, and to develop that trade within the framework of ‘TRIPP,' Simonyan said at a press briefing.

Earlier, Fidan said that Ankara expects the formalization of the initialed peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the implementation of the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, as soon as possible.

The Turkish foreign minister also referred to the elections scheduled to take place in Armenia in June 2026, noting that this process will be an important stage.
