Armenian FM says detainees held in Azerbaijan raised in talks with Rubio

Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan said he discussed with the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio the issue of Armenian detainees held in Azerbaijan.

“We have, of course, discussed the possible obstacles that, at the moment, do not fully align with the positive trends of peacebuilding and cooperation. Naturally, the issue of persons held in Azerbaijan is one of these matters,” the minister said at a press conference after the TRIPP Implementation Framework was published.

During the meeting, the development of the Armenia–U.S. strategic partnership, the active implementation of agreements, joint initiatives, and future prospects were also discussed, he added.
