Armenia and the United States will continue their joint efforts to implement the TRIPP project, which carries truly exceptional significance.
According to “Armenpress”, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the remarks following a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Washington.
“We are going to sign and continue working on the implementation of this agreement, which we believe is an incredible example.
While, on the one hand, it opens Armenia up to business and allows it to prosper economically, it does so in a way that does not in any way infringe upon Armenia’s sovereignty. There is no sovereignty issue here. It is respectful of sovereignty.
This is a great example and, at the same time, a continuous pathway for further strengthening the bilateral relationship between our two countries, which is already very strong and continues to grow stronger through these agreements, even beyond the framework of TRIPP.
We believe that the TRIPP arrangement will truly become a model for the world, demonstrating how countries can open themselves to economic activity and prosperity without in any way questioning or undermining their sovereignty and territorial integrity. We believe it will be great for Armenia, great for the United States, and great for everyone involved, but ultimately a model for the world.
We are deeply committed to this effort. We are taking important steps today and will continue moving forward in this direction,” Rubio said.
