Voting reveals top athletes of 2025

A vote conducted by a panel of 15 journalists has determined Armenia's top athletes and sports figures of 2025.

The vote was organized by the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

The top three athletes of the year are weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan, wrestler Malkhas Amoyan, and gymnast Artur Davtyan.

Weightlifter Alexandra Grigoryan was named the Best Female Athlete.

Chess player Sargis Sargsyan was voted the Best Para-athlete.

The Armenian futsal team was named the Best Team.

Wrestler Gaspar Terteryan won the Best Junior Athlete category, while karateka Suren Harutyunyan won Best Newcomer.

Gymnast Hamlet Manukyan won the Best Promotion of Armenia category.

Weightlifting coach Pashik Alaverdyan was named the Best Coach.

Online voting for the “Audience Choice” category will conclude at 5:00 PM.
