President Khachaturyan holds meeting with founder of Startup Armenia Foundation

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Hakob Hakobyan, founder of the Startup Armenia Foundation and the Sevan Startup Summit initiative.

During the meeting, the parties discussed organizational issues related to the Sevan Startup Summit 2026, as well as prospects for expanding the initiative’s activities.

The educational significance of the Sevan Startup Summit was emphasized, particularly for youth and adolescents, as an effective platform for knowledge transfer, skills development and the promotion of entrepreneurial thinking.

Issues related to the COP17 conference to be held in Armenia in 2026 were also discussed, including opportunities for support by the Sevan Startup Summit within that framework, possible formats of cooperation and ways to attract innovative solutions.

Hakob Hakobyan presented the initiative’s long-term sectoral and investment programs, directions of innovative development, as well as his vision and approaches to the concept of building a new smart city, highlighting the importance of modern technological solutions in creating a future-oriented and sustainable environment.

President Khachaturyan underscored the need for the continuous and institutional development of innovative initiatives, noting their importance for the country’s technological progress, increased competitiveness and sustainable development. He also paid special attention to the educational component, stressing that such initiatives serve as an important platform for engaging youth, fostering knowledge-based thinking and identifying and developing innovative ideas. In this context, the President emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between the state and the private sector to ensure long-term results.
