Armenian Ambassador briefs Iranian Supreme Leader’s advisor on Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process

Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan met with Ali Akbar Velayati, Advisor on International Affairs to the Supreme Leader of Iran, the Armenian Embassy in Iran has said in a statement.
The meeting highlighted the historical and strategic nature of Armenia-Iran bilateral relations. Both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening ties.
Ambassador Hakobyan briefed Ali Akbar Velayati on the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process. Velayati welcomed the ongoing efforts to normalize relations between the two neighboring countries and to stabilize the region.
Regarding the unblocking of regional communication routes, Ambassador Hakobyan noted that the "Trump Route" would be implemented based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity, creating significant opportunities for regional interconnection and economic development.
The Armenian Ambassador also reaffirmed Yerevan’s appreciation for Tehran’s clear position on respecting these principles and emphasized that Armenia takes into account Iran’s security and political sensitivities.
Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining continuous dialogue on regional issues.
