The official logo for CoP17, which will be held in Armenia, has been completed, the Ministry of Environment said in a statement.
The emblem is based on the Yerevan blue butterfly, an endemic species of the Armenian highlands.
The visual identity of CoP17 is built around the butterfly’s life cycle-egg, caterpillar, cocoon, and emergence-symbolizing the continuity, diversity, and resilience of natural systems.
The butterfly’s outline consists of 23 colors corresponding to the goals of the Global Framework for Biodiversity, along with a primary blue color symbolizing the butterfly’s identity.
"The color scheme highlights the main focus of the conference: ensuring the sustainability and vitality of nature through action,” the statement said.
The slogan of CoP17, "Taking Action for Nature," reflects the focus of current environmental policy, calling for a shift from general initiatives to targeted and coordinated action.
