Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Maria Telalian, on the margins of the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the main directions of cooperation with the OSCE/ODIHR, expressing satisfaction with the effective partnership established in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring the rule of law, the foreign ministry reported.
The electoral processes were also addressed. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the Government of Armenia views democracy as the key source for strengthening resilience in the country, and is therefore determined to conduct electoral processes in line with democratic standards.
In this context, both sides highlighted the importance of active cooperation with relevant international bodies, including the OSCE/ODIHR.
Ararat Mirzoyan and the ODIHR Director also touched upon hybrid threats, including mechanisms for effectively countering disinformation, underscoring their readiness to cooperate in this area as well.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional developments.
Humanitarian issues were discussed as well.
