Details of Armenia joining CRIRSCO discussed in Yerevan

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Asatur Vardanyan met with a delegation led by CRIRSCO (Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards) Chairperson Garth Kirkham.
Mr. Vardanyan said that membership in CRIRSCO is of strategic importance for Armenia and is enshrined in the country’s mining sector development strategy.
During the meeting, the details of Armenia’s process for joining CRIRSCO, as well as the technical and legal prerequisites for membership, were discussed, the ministry said in a press release.
The meeting was also attended by Harutyun Movsisyan, Director of the Republican Geological Fund; Vahan Grigoryan, President of the Union of Geologists of Armenia; Sargis Kelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology at Yerevan State University; Vardan Jhanyan, President of the Mining and Metallurgy Association of Armenia; and Armen Stepanyan, a member of the Association.
