Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili in Tbilisi. The meeting was also attended First Vice-Speaker and Georgia's head of the Georgia-Armenia Friendship Group Giorgi Volski, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, and members of the friendship group, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a readout.
During the meeting, the parties discussed Armenia-Georgia bilateral relations, touching upon the ongoing initiatives between the legislative bodies. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties for the benefit of the friendship between the two peoples and for promoting agendas of common interest.
The parties also highlighted the significance of the "Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia" as both a reflection of current cooperation and an important basis for ensuring further practical results.
Referring to the outcomes of the trilateral meeting held in Washington in August 2025, Mirzoyan expressed confidence that the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the complete unblocking of transport communications will contribute to transforming the region into an effective transit and logistics hub.
