During a joint press statement with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said that Georgia welcomes the signing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8, considering it an important step toward establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus.

“This historic agreement is a significant step toward establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus. It provides an opportunity for the long-term, sustainable development of the region,” the Georgian Foreign Minister noted.

She added "Georgia has always played a constructive role in regional processes.”

“Georgia has always been committed to fulfilling its role in the peaceful development of the region and is ready to contribute to strengthening further cooperation,” Botchorishvili said.

The Georgian Foreign Minister recalled that this year, for the first time, an Armenia–Azerbaijan–Georgia trilateral meeting aimed at developing mutual cooperation was held in Tbilisi (the meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers Vahan Kostanyan, Lasha Darsalia and Elnur Mammadov took place in April 2025).

“I hope that this cooperation will continue and bring significant results to the region,” she noted.

Botchorishvili particularly emphasized Armenia's consistent support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Armenia is a consistent supporter of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is reflected at the international level,” the minister emphasized.

She noted that the Armenian and Georgian foreign ministries cooperate in various formats and are ready to continue mutually beneficial work on international platforms.

It was noted that during the meeting, the parties discussed the course and prospects of Armenian-Georgian cooperation, the deepening of the strategic partnership, and issues of regional stability and prosperity.

“These issues are important for the well-being and stability of both our countries and the entire region,” the Georgian Foreign Minister added.
