President Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the inaugural Republic of Armenia Prayer Breakfast.
The President delivered remarks at the event.
“I warmly welcome all of you on the occasion of the conference launched in the Republic of Armenia,” the President said. “This initiative is an important and meaningful event, bringing together representatives from political, diplomatic, economic, social, and spiritual life. It demonstrates that the strength of a state is measured not only by economic or military indicators but also by its moral and spiritual foundations. Armenia, as the world’s first Christian nation, has always drawn strength from faith and values throughout its history. In difficult times, we have been sustained not only by our courage but also by the conviction that a state is stable to the extent that its value-based foundations—principles devoted to humanity, justice, freedom, and responsibility—are solid. Today, as our region stands at a crossroads of new opportunities and a path toward peace, it is crucial that this path be built not on force or coercion but on respect, trust, and universal moral principles. Platforms such as this—spaces for prayer, reflection, and open dialogue—hold particular significance. They remind us that diverse opinions and beliefs can unite around a common goal: fostering harmony and a peaceful future. The harmony of spiritual and secular principles is the foundation on which a modern, democratic, and trustworthy state can be built. Democracy is viable only when freedom is accompanied by responsibility, power is guided by a sense of service, and the law rests on moral grounds. I would like to express my special gratitude to the authors of this initiative for your dedication and work. This format reminds us that the connection between the state and society is not only political but also moral, based on mutual respect and trust. May this event mark a new beginning on the path of our people’s unity, moral renewal, and faith-guided solidarity, leading toward a dignified peace. I thank all organizers and participants for your engagement and contribution of ideas. I wish you productive discussions, inspiring interactions, and new collaborations for the sake of our state, our people, and the values that unite us,” said the President of the Republic of Armenia, according to a press release issued by his office.
Organizers said on their website that the event is initiated and organized by Armenian civil society with support from the Armenian government.
