Economy Minister presents Armenia’s climate-smart agriculture vision in Germany

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Alois Rainer, Germany’s Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, during his visit to Berlin.
“During the meeting, I emphasized the importance of the activities of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the KfW Development Bank in Armenia,” Papoyan said in a statement.
“I added that tangible progress has already been achieved in modernizing irrigation systems, promoting the use of renewable energy in rural communities, and improving the qualifications of specialists in the agricultural sector. I also presented the concept of investment policy, the export strategy developed by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, as well as Armenia’s vision for promoting smart, climate-resilient, and resource-efficient agriculture,” Papoyan said.
