Berlin hosts Armenia-Germany Intergovernmental Commission on Financial and Technical Cooperation meeting

The meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Financial and Technical Cooperation between Armenia and Germany took place in Berlin.

It was co-chaired by Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Niels Annen.

During the meeting, the prospects for the development of bilateral trade and economic relations were discussed, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, import and export, the development of micro and small enterprises, renewable energy, sustainable urban development, water resource management, agriculture, high technologies, tourism, and other fields, the ministry of economy said in a press release.

“Armenia and Germany have established a strong, reliable, and forward-looking partnership based on shared values — democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and inclusive economic growth. In recent years, Germany has become one of Armenia’s most reliable partners, both bilaterally and within the broader Armenia–EU framework. Today’s dialogue is another important step toward deepening this partnership and aligning our joint efforts with Armenia’s long-term vision for sustainable, green, and diversified development,” said Papoyan.

The Minister of Economy attached importance to Germany’s support for the implementation of political and economic reforms in Armenia, as well as for sustainable development, the promotion of a green economy, and social inclusion.

Papoyan also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation with Germany within the framework of Armenia–EU relations.

The meeting was also attended by Viktor Yengibaryan, Ambassador of Armenia to Germany, and Anushik Avetyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia.
