Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with a delegation of visiting journalists and experts, whose visit was organized by the For Equal Rights NGO and the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB).
FM Mirzoyan presented the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
The discussion touched upon the new realities in the region that emerged as a result of the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, including the significance of the initialed Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the unblocking of communications for the stability and development of the South Caucasus and the wider region.
The Minister presented Armenia’s vision regarding the unblocking of communications, as reflected in the “Crossroads of Peace” project, an important component of which is the Trump Route (TRIPP).
Minister Mirzoyan also highlighted the unprecedented dynamics in the deepening partnership between Armenia and the European Union. The discussion addressed the prospects for further development of relations, expansion of cooperation within the framework of the new Armenia-EU partnership agenda, strengthening economic and people-to-people ties, and advancing democratic institutions.
Views were exchanged on the challenges along the path of democratic development, and in this context, Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s approaches to effectively addressing them.
The Minister also answered other questions raised by the participants.
