Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has decided to bestow the Order of the Nile — the country’s highest state honor — upon U.S. President Donald Trump for “his outstanding contributions to supporting peace efforts and defusing conflicts, most recently his pivotal role in stopping the war in Gaza,” the Egyptian presidential office said in a press release.

Trump is expected to visit Egypt on October 13 to attend a Gaza peace summit.

The Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit is a diplomatic meeting scheduled for October 13, 2025, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, following the agreement to implement the first phase of the U.S.-brokered Gaza peace plan.
