There is no project called the "Zangezur corridor" on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and there cannot be one, Deputy FM Vahan Kostanyan told reporters.
He was asked to comment on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s continued use of the term “Zangezur corridor” despite objections from Armenia.
The Deputy FM reaffirmed PM Pashinyan’s earlier statement that the so-called "Zangezur corridor" is the Horadiz–Zangilan road in Azerbaijan and doesn’t pertain to Armenian territory.
“How the Azerbaijani authorities name their communication projects passing through their territory is their own matter,” Kostanyan said.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on October 1 that the "Zangezur corridor" is the Horadiz–Zangilan road, which can be extended up to the border point with Armenia—but not reaching the Armenian border—and it does not pertain to the Republic of Armenia.
