The Armenian Ambassador to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Kostis Hatzidakis.
According to the Armenian Embassy in Greece, the meeting focused on upcoming actions to further deepen bilateral relations, with special emphasis on economic diplomacy.
The Greek official underlined the importance of sectoral cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, construction and tourism, expressing his country’s readiness to provide any necessary support to Armenia within the framework of the European Union.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented the significant dynamics of cooperation in several bilateral areas. He also briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the U.S.-brokered Armenia-Azerbaijan agreements reached in Washington in August this year, which are based on the principles of mutual sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to the embassy, Kostis Hatzidakis reaffirmed Greece's position: "Greece welcomed the Washington agreements and hopes that it will be possible to finally sign the agreements in the near future."
The meeting also touched upon upcoming high-level bilateral visits.
