Macron reaffirms French support for Armenian sovereignty and independence

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the current course and prospects of development of the Armenian-French multidimensional cooperation during their meeting at the European Political Community Summit in Denmark, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.

The parties reiterated the high level of the special relationship between Armenia and France and underscored the importance of implementing new initiatives.

PM Pashinyan and President Macron also discussed regional developments, as well as issues pertaining to the implementation of the agreements achieved at the Washington Peace Summit and the TRIPP project.

President Macron reaffirmed France’s continuous support for Armenia’s independence and sovereignty, as well as its democratic reforms agenda. Pashinyan thanked Macron for providing comprehensive support at an important phase for Armenia. The two leaders agreed to continue close contacts both bilaterally and multilaterally.
