Deputy PM Grigoryan urges Azerbaijani counterpart to refrain from using term "Zangezur Corridor"

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan participated remotely in the regular session of the CIS Heads of Government Council, his office said.
In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia welcomed the participants and thanked the Belarusian side for organizing the session. He noted that in the first half of the current year, the trade turnover between Armenia and CIS countries amounted to about 4 billion US dollars, which represents a slight decrease compared to the same period last year. In this context, he emphasized the need for the timely adoption of an action plan aimed at strengthening cooperation, modernizing economies and introducing innovation.
According to the source, Grigoryan highlighted the creation of modern infrastructure and the establishment of effective transport and communication logistics as key factors for sustainable and comprehensive economic development.
"In this regard, I would like to note that the Republic of Armenia is committed to the regional connectivity agenda," he said. Responding to the speech of Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, he stressed that it is necessary to refrain from using the term "Zangezur Corridor," adding that, according to high-level documents signed between the countries, the definition "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" should be used in the context of unblocking.
Mher Grigoryan reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to continue strengthening constructive partnership within the CIS framework, aimed at implementing promising and mutually beneficial projects.
