Calling TRIPP "a corridor" disrespectful to US President Trump: Speaker Simonyan

Calling the “Trump Route” a corridor is, first of all, disrespectful toward US President Donald Trump, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters at a briefing.

“In all cases, when it is not about TRIPP, not about the "Trump Route," but about a corridor, it carries two problematic meanings. Anyone in Armenia or elsewhere who refers to TRIPP as the "Zangezur Corridor "or "corridor" is, first of all, being disrespectful toward the US President.  Secondly, that person does not talk about peace in their linguistic thinking, but about some kind of interim solution in a war situation,” he said.

He expressed dissatisfaction with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s use of the term “Zangezur Corridor''.

However, the Speaker expressed confidence that this discourse would eventually change.
