The Armenian national football team secured a 2-1 victory over Ireland in Yerevan in the second round of the World Cup qualifying campaign.
Eduard Spertsyan opened the scoring in the added time of the first half, converting a penalty with a powerful strike. Just five minutes into the second half, Hrant Leon-Ranos doubled Armenia’s lead.
Ireland quickly responded in the 56th minute. Evan Ferguson pulled one back with a direct shot.
The match ended 2-1 in favor of Armenia.
