Armenian parliament committee endorses ratification of CDRI charter

The Armenian parliament’s defense and security affairs committee on Friday endorsed the bill on ratifying the Charter of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Armen Ghazaryan, told lawmakers that the coalition’s purpose is to “improve the resilience of infrastructure systems against climate change and disaster risk management.”

It was launched by India in 2019.

CDRI is an international coalition of countries, United Nations (UN) agencies, multilateral development banks, the private sector, and academic institutions, that aims to promote disaster-resilient infrastructure.
