Success in Armenian-Azeri talks is in “common interests” of Russia and Turkiye, Erdogan tells Putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China, has expressed hope for further success in the Armenian-Azeri negotiations. 

According to a readout published by the Turkish presidential office, Erdogan said that both Turkiye and Russia need stability in the Caucasus. 

“President Erdogan expressed hope that the Azerbaijani-Armenian negotiations will lead to sustainable peace, noting that lasting stability in the Caucasus is in the common interests of Turkiye and Russia,” the Turkish presidential office said in the readout.

Erdogan and Putin also discussed bilateral ties, as well as regional and international matters.
