Armenian, Russian Deputy PMs discuss unblocking regional communications

Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk, co-chairs of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held a meeting to discuss bilateral cooperation.

According to a readout from Grigoryan’s office, the talks began with a private meeting, followed by an expanded discussion. The sides reviewed the implementation of the protocol of the 23rd session of the intergovernmental commission and exchanged views on the current agenda of Armenia-Russia cooperation.

Grigoryan thanked Overchuk for his prompt response and support in facilitating grain imports from Russia to Armenia through the Upper Lars checkpoint.

The Deputy Prime Ministers underlined the importance of advancing joint work in the fields of trade, economic relations, transport, energy, and customs, as well as cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

They also highlighted the importance of unblocking regional communications based on full respect for the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity of countries.
