Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke by phone on Wednesday with his Spanish counterpart José Manuel Albares.

The ministers discussed “the work toward developing the partnership between Armenia and Spain, including through bilateral high-level mutual visits and active partnership in the EU platform,” the Armenian foreign ministry said in a readout.

Mirzoyan thanked Albares for Spain’s “important message” regarding the Washington accords signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Underscoring Armenia’s determination to achieve sustainable peace in the South Caucasus, Mirzoyan presented the opportunities that would arise through the unblocking of regional connection routes.
