Armenian PM, Iranian president discuss strengthening bilateral ties

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for talks on Tuesday in Yerevan.

The one-on-one meeting was followed by an enlarged format meeting.

“Your visit is a testament to the high-level relations between our countries, and we are happy for it,” Pashinyan told Pezeshkian. 

“We already managed to discuss a rather broad circle of issues, and I am glad to note that my impression is that our mutual trust is getting stronger through these discussions.”

Pezeshkian, thanking for the warm reception and described the discussions as “highly constructive.”

“We have historic, very close relations, and our country, including our Supreme Leader, believes that these ties must be continuous and further develop,” the Iranian President said.

“We have always emphasized Armenia’s territorial integrity and we will never accept the violation of that integrity. Fortunately, our relations are developing in all areas and I hope that during these discussions and meetings we will be able to further develop these ties.”

The cooperation agenda between the two countries was discussed, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
