Armenia, Iran discuss transit cargo tariff revision

Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Davit Khudatyan has met with Farzaneh Sadegh, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, during President Masoud Pezeshkian’s official visit to Armenia.
Khudatyan described Iran as an important partner for Armenia, the ministry said in a readout.
He thanked Iran for providing aid after the 2024 floods in the provinces of Lori and Tavush, and donating metal bridges.
The ongoing road construction in the 32km section of Kajaran-Agarak part of North-South Road Corridor was also discussed.
Khudatyan lauded the pace of construction and the efforts made by the construction company.
The possibility of revising the tariff policy for transit cargo shipments was addressed.
An agreement was reached to create a working group to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
Issues pertaining to the aviation sector were also discussed.
Khudatyan attached importance to enhancing regular air connection with various Iranian cities, emphasizing that flights to Iran are in demand in Armenia.
