The EU remains fully committed to supporting the implementation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace agreement and to strengthening regional connectivity, President of the European Council António Costa has said.
I had very positive phone calls this week with President [of Azerbaijan] Aliyev and Prime Minister [of Armenia] Nikol Pashinyan,” Costa said in a post on X. “The historic initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan marks a significant step forward toward a lasting peace — for both countries and the wider region. The EU remains fully committed to supporting its implementation and to strengthening regional connectivity, helping communities overcome years of conflict and move toward lasting peace, stability, and prosperity.”
