FM Mirzoyan, French counterpart discuss Washington accords

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Monday held a telephone conversation with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot, the foreign ministry has said.

Mirzoyan presented the August 8 agreements, emphasizing the initialing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a key milestone in the normalization process.

He noted that the joint appeal by Armenia and Azerbaijan for the closure of the OSCE Minsk Group processes and related structures, along with the proposed draft decision, was circulated today to OSCE participating states.

The ministers exchanged views on the unprecedented opportunities for enhanced connectivity in the region and beyond resulting from the agreement on unblocking regional communications.

Mirzoyan expressed gratitude to France for its congratulations and continued support in the process.
