The Turkish foreign ministry has welcomed the US brokered Armenian-Azerbaijani joint declaration aimed at establishing sustainable peace.
“We welcome the progress recorded by Armenia and Azerbaijan on the path toward establishing sustainable peace and the obligations they assumed in Washington in this direction,” the Turkish foreign ministry said in a statement, describing the deal as a “significant development” toward regional peace and stability at a time of escalating international conflicts.
“We highly appreciate the US role in this process,” it added.
It said that a historic chance for peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus has emerged and that Ankara will continue to contribute to the process and “support Azerbaijan’s efforts.”
