During his working visit to the United States, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington. Accompanied by the museum’s Chief of Staff Aaron Ross, the Prime Minister toured the exhibition halls, which also included displays of Armenian Christian heritage and an ancient Armenian Bible.

Pashinyan expressed his appreciation for the exhibits and presented the museum with a copy of a medieval illustrated manuscript by Grigor Narekatsi.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the manuscript is one of the oldest known copies of The Book of Lamentations by Gregory of Narek. The original was written in 1173 in Cilicia by the renowned scribe and painter Grigor Skevratsi, commissioned by the prominent Armenian theologian Nerses Lambronatsi. It is preserved at the Matenadaran as one of the masterpieces of Armenian written and miniature art.
