Three suspects jailed in drug trafficking investigation

Three Armenian citizens have been jailed pending trial on charges of drug trafficking, authorities announced Tuesday.

The Investigative Committee stated in a press release that the suspects, one of whom is a previously convicted inmate serving a life sentence who was released on parole, colluded with accomplices in foreign countries to smuggle large quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana into Armenia for sale.

The suspects remain jailed as the investigation continues.
