More indictments in 2020 riots probe

Seven more suspects have been indicted amid the ongoing investigation into the violent riots in Yerevan in November 2020 which were sparked by the announcement of the Russia-mediated Nagorno-Karabakh armistice.
The 7 individuals, according to the Investigative Committee, are suspected of rioting and burglary when the rioters breached into the government headquarters, the parliament building, other state buildings, as well as the prime minister’s residence. The suspects allegedly stole various items, including jewelry, cash, as well as official documents.
6 are charged with rioting and burglary, while 1 is charged with rioting. They’ve been banned from leaving the country and placed under administrative surveillance pending trial.
Investigators have forwarded the indictment to the supervising prosecutor for confirmation and submission to court.
