President Khachaturyan receives outgoing Lebanese Ambassador

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lebanon to Armenia, Maya Dagher, on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission.

President Khachaturyan thanked Ambassador Dagher for her efforts during her tenure and emphasized the historically warm and friendly ties between the Armenian and Lebanese peoples.

The President expressed his gratitude for Lebanon’s position during the recent summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, where Lebanon expressed reservations about the wording of the adopted statement, which had an anti-Armenian subtext initiated by Azerbaijan.

Speaking about the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, President Khachaturyan noted: “I see a brighter future for our two countries,” he said.

Ambassador Maya Dagher thanked the President for the warm reception, adding that she is leaving Armenia with mixed feelings of sadness and joy, as she believes “the future will be bright for our two countries.”

They also discussed issues regarding the further strengthening of  Armenian-Lebanese relations.
