U.S. President Trump signed his signature tax cut and spending bill into law on Friday, after Congress met his self-imposed deadline to pass it by July 4.
"The golden age of America is upon us," Trump said in remarks at the White House Independence Day picnic. "It's going to be a period of time the likes of which I don't think this country has ever experienced before."
The bill combines tax reductions, spending hikes on defence and border security, and cuts to social safety nets.
