Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has awarded the outgoing Swedish Ambassador Patrik Svensson the Medal of Honor of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia for his productive work and contributions in advancing bilateral relations.
The award was bestowed upon Ambassador Svensson during a farewell meeting at the Foreign Ministry.
Mirzoyan underscored Svensson’s significant contribution—as the first resident Ambassador of Sweden to Armenia—to the development and strengthening of Armenian-Swedish ties, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the notable intensification of political dialogue between Armenia and Sweden, the expansion of cooperation within the EU and NB8 formats, and the enhancement of trade and economic relations.
Mirzoyan highlighted the ongoing partnership with Sweden in the development of democratic institutions in Armenia, as well as Sweden’s support for forcibly displaced refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh.
The parties emphasized the strong mutual understanding regarding the prospects for further developing their partnership.
