The Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) and Florida State University have launched a partnership to advance STEM and Social Entrepreneurship for Global Innovation and Progress.
The project is funded by the US Department of State.
ASUE Rector Armen Grigoryan, US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien, Florida State University Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship Professor and Associate Dean Dr. Eric Liguori attended the launch ceremony at ASUE.
ASUE Rector Armen Grigoryan said the project reflects “our shared commitment to advance joint initiatives by combining the valuable American experience and Armenian potential.”
He added that the partnership is unprecedented in terms of marking the first major cooperation between an Armenian state university and a US public university.
The goal of the program is to provide students and young people aspiring to make changes with the necessary environment, knowledge, tools and mentorship to realize their ideas.
Ambassador Kvien lauded the successful cooperation between the US embassy and ASUE.
“This new partnership will help strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship, and most importantly make a strategic investment in the mutual prosperity of our countries,” she added.
“This partnership brings together the finest American skills and Armenian talent to solve real issues, develop local businesses and open new doors for cooperation and trade between the United States and Armenia,” the ambassador said, highlighting the valuable international experience and new research opportunities for US universities benefiting from the partnership. “This is also a victory for US companies who seek global partnerships and talents ready for the future.”
By investing in Armenia’s scientific and entrepreneurial ecosystem, the ambassador said, the US helps shape a future that advances the American principles of free entrepreneurship, merit and accountability.
