Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, together with many of his supporters, is marching towards Yerevan from the city of Vagharshapat.
Ajapahyan, who is under criminal investigation for allegedly advocating the overthrow of the government, told reporters that he was going to Yerevan to submit to arrest to law enforcement authorities.
He denied the charges as fabricated.
“I do not fear anything, these accusations are completely fabricated and illegal. I have never hidden, never evaded, and never renounced what I had said,” he said.
Ajapahyan is the Head of the Diocese of Shirak of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Officers attempted to arrest him earlier on Friday.
