Authorities launch criminal proceedings on obstruction of justice

The Investigative Committee announced that it launched criminal proceedings on obstruction of justice after a group of people obstructed the lawful actions of law enforcement officers on Friday at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

National Security Service (NSS) agents arrived at the Church headquarters Friday morning to detain Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan who is facing charges of advocating for overthrow of government. 

The Investigative Committee said the NSS agents were obstructed by a group of people.
