Iran’s Parliament approves suspending cooperation with IAEA

The Iranian parliament adopted the general outline of the plan to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with 221 votes in favor, no votes against, and one abstention out of a total of 223 legislators present in the session, the Mehr news agency reported.

The decision was made after the U.S. strikes on several Iranian nuclear sites, which Tehran condemned as violations of international law, including the United Nations Charter.

The country's Supreme National Security Council now needs to give final approval to the move, according to Nournews.

The Iranian parliament speaker had earlier accused the UN nuclear watchdog of having a “politicized stance” and “unprofessional conduct”.
