Over 600 Chinese nationals have left Iran via Armenia since the Israeli-Iranian escalation began on June 13, the Chinese embassy has said.
“As of the evening of June 18, more than 600 citizens of China had crossed into Armenia through Iran via the Agarak border crossing point,” the Chinese embassy in Armenia told Armenpress when asked how many Chinese nationals have been evacuated via Armenia from Iran.
Earlier on June 17, China advised its nationals in Iran to consider Armenia as an evacuation route.
India earlier evacuated 110 of its nationals from Iran through the territory of Armenia.
The Iran-Israel conflict has shuttered airspace across the Middle East and some governments have advised their nationals to use Iran’s land borders to leave the country.
